Meet the team behind this journey
Core Platform is a track formed by 5 teams with the mission to create shared building blocks critical for the enablement of user-facing services and products. Our track builds a platform — in the form of text APIs and libraries — for client-facing teams and API customers to build products on. We aim to enable the best possible products to be built as productively as possible. Join them as a Group Product Manager to help them build a true, self-service platform that enables its customers, and to lead and grow a team of experienced PMs in the track.
Your Responsibilities
- Define a mission and strategy for a group of teams whose work enables the most critical workflows and features at DeepL
- Foster an autonomous culture where PMs contribute to product strategy and own decision making with their team
- Ensure transparent communication of goals, results and impact
- Establish true partnerships with your counterparts in Engineering, Research and Design set product and technology goals and roadmap
- Maintain open and efficient communication with stakeholders across the organization
- Own the product life cycle and drive measurable business impact
- Drive adoption of new methodology and techniques that accelerate impact across the business
- Define metrics and KPIs to measure and report progress and impact of your teams
- Ensure the maximum Return on Investment for your teams by displaying and teaching expertise of craft
- Communicate strategy, ideas and concepts clearly, aimed at the right audience, with the help of insight and data
- Identify opportunities for new features and products that leverage the global scale of our user base and data
Qualities we look for
- 6+ years of experience as a Product Manager working with an agile environment, preferably with platform teams
- 3+ years of managing a group of Product Managers
- Strong technical background - you studied computer science (or a related subject) and worked as a software engineer
- Strong understanding of how to lead an impactful product organisation – expert at craft and product methodology
- Experience in driving the whole product lifecycle – research, prototyping, iterative development and testing, launch, and continuous improvement
- Consistency in using qualitative and quantitative insights to define strategy, goals and roadmap
- Comfortable taking decisions and moving forward to learn fast when data or research might be difficult to acquire
- Analytical mind and focus on solving problems elegantly but simply. You are able to analyse and break down large problems to a structured approach, with small measurable steps to achieve your goals
- Data centricity. You base your decisions on facts, not opinion, and always seek to validate any hypothesis both before and after implementation
- Experience working on a product at scale, with an international footprint
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the help of insight and data
- Resilient and able to deal with uncertainty and constant change
- Fluency in English
